Map Case, Far East, 1944/5? A British canvas treated foldable/compact map case. Issued during the latter part of the war for use in the Far East (often described/sold as an "Airborne" or Para map case). Three part plastic/celluloid faced map pocket with cotton "screen" to separate sections, pencil pocket, separate pocket, fastens with "Newey" press studs.
Date: Date stamp is faded on this item, but just legible as '45 (purchased with another of same date).
Condition: Material and plastic in very good condition. Clean and damage free. Presumably unissued as it still shows red "chalk" marks used during manufacture. Only defect is that 2 of the 5 press studs have pulled away from the material.
Items are sold as seen, and described as accurately as possible. Please note that all items are used and therefore a certain amount of wear is to be expected. Any fundamental defects/deficiences are stated. Many items have been tailored and therefore sizes may be approximate.
